'A Square' is an alternative rock band from Islamabad/ Rawalpindi Pakistan, formed by Ahson Haqqani and Adnan Zafar.

Ahson Haqqani is the bands’ vocalist, guitarist and lyricist who has been working on his songs and compositions for quite some time. His lyrics and vocals are deep and powerful and such which anyone can relate to, leaving people mesmerized and wanting for more.

Adnan Zafar has a very deep voice, With his Strong Vocal Abilities to move the crowd.He has won many competitions including (Nust IDOL) in his college and University years.

Both Ahson & Adnan are school and college buddies. Fortunately for them, they ended up in the same university as well and soon discovered that their collaboration would take their music making potential and abilities to a whole new level. Their innate and visceral talents combined have the ability to make crowds go nuts!

Really love the girls and guys who have been putting up papers on the barrier in front of the cafe,,as APCOMS administration falls to the depths of immaturity,the APCOMS students have finally started getting some ghairat,lets see.
don't forget its not about success its about expressing yourself and not compromising on your integrity,so WAY TO GO guys,,keep telling em that we fucking hate you and your cheap-ass thinking, they are listening.( and did anyone see Madni hahahah he was so damn packed lols,he didn't even look at the barrier and when he was praying ,girls and guys kept visiting the barrier and reading the comments and laughing )

and by the way the barrier is not the only place where you can express yourself,there are walls and corridors too :P

Enough of paying to them screw us.its OUR so called university.

Last semesters engineering gala was pretty awesome was it not? Although eye brows were raised because BBA were not allowed to hold a gala even though it was supposed to be relevant to BBA a few years ago when i joined.but "what happens in APCOMS ~~stays~~ is pretty dumb anyway".
but still engineering guys pulled off a pretty awesome gig and as far as i remember it was one of the most fun events yet although the female teacher that kept shouting "No hooting" during the singing competition was pretty DAMN ANNOYING there should be Crankiness limit on these things,Who wants a cranky old lady spoiling all the fun :P.
The Miss and Mr APCOMS competition made me wonder if money really grows on trees and also that why the bloody hell no on ever try that before,,WAIT let me answer that,BECAUSE no one ever thought something like that would be allowed in APCOMS.
you know what i think this was all pulled off by some new energetic teacher and the emphasis is on NEW,and you know what i think it was that same lady i was so respectfully talking about a few lines ago.she seemed to be behind it but i cud be wrong but whoever was behind it the whole gala thing did a pretty good job,
One more step towards becoming a university i guess and baby steps at that,but still its better than nothing.

The result for the last semester is not on the APCOMS website yet,ill keep a look out for it and holla you guys if its up,although the chances are pretty low,the APCOMS webmasters are pretty busy tending their crops in farmville,playing Tick tak toe on MS Excel,being marveled how cool "Internet Explorer provided by APCOMS" looks and wondering what is firefox.
but still if it apears online it would be awesome there is nothing like checking out your old grades and getting a fresh feel of how we were betrayed marked unjustly.

So it appears we get to smell new paint,wet cement and the frantic administration running around making sure there aren't any holes in the walls that the students are using to get out of the class,after all.well sure those of us that might spend a lot less time in the new campus might be able to cover our old memories with new paint for future comfort but the poor juniors 1st 2nd 3rd 4rth 5th semester guys and gals will probably grow to hate the new campus as well.
Asman sey gira khajoor me atka comes to mind only the khajoor is inside the proverbial pan and the rock and the hard place are only a yard apart,so with all of my heart i say Congratulations for a new pile of bricks to waste your money and to spoil the golden years of your life,but then again its you life :P
anyways i will be coordinating the efforts to find a new smoking spot with the serenity and the calm atmosphere of the old smoke em and chill out place,Any and all donations to help this noble cause are welcome. :P

I mean Organizational Behaviour.
I cant help my self but call our beloved "NOT" Colonel Saleem ,Colonel OB ( its more catchy and it implies that the said person is out of bounds or something but he is more like out of place or in the wrong BLOODY CENTURY ) the guys a Moron CUMMMM AWWWWWNN.

He cant utter a single word without his handy note,take it away from him and he literally starts sweating the old tool cant say shit without coming prepared and he starts lecturing like a robot so that he wouldn't forget his "KNOWLEDGE".

Who makes you COPY the Pages of the book BY HAND on to a paper??? yes he asks his students to write what is written in the book. and then asks them to read it when they come to the class next time Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

hey if you come to think about it APCOMS sure is providing us Real world experience. Like they always say the world is a tough place ( i wouldn't know because personally i came here only a a few years ago ) but yeah it makes sense, so i guess they are right in subjecting us to all kinds of Dumb-asses, Morons, Hypocrites , Ex Army "Discipline is INSIDE me" guys and some plain old STUPID teachers. By exposing us to these folk they provide us with precious life experiences in the safe and "homely" APCOMS environment.

Thinks Case Studies have only ONE solution/Valid answer and guess what?? its the one HE thinks is right,and yeah you are DUMB if you think otherwise.
You never know which of your ideas is the right one,untill he tells you that all of them are WRONG and then you realize all of yours were RIGHT ( Because his answer is even DUMBER ).
Makes shitloads of spelling and grammar mistakes in the EXAM Question paper.
Interestingly that makes it even more difficult to guess which answer is the one he is squirming to get.
Indirectly implies that we are stupid and dont know anything goes on about how much we still have to learn in this world,MAN! if only someone could tell him the truth.
Loves case studies but knows donkeys ass about them.
Oh and i forgot overall he is a nice guy, arrogant , Never admits he is wrong but NICE and polite.

Bomb Explosion Survival Tips/Guide

OK i think this post has become necessary now,Here are a few very useful tips to help you if you find your self in an unfortunate situation such as a bomb explosion.
READ ON

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A BOMB EXPLOSION

DURING THE ATTACK

Stay calm you are the only one who can help your self, freaking out will not help.
Crawl under a sturdy table or a solid object if things are falling around you and remain there for at least 60 seconds.
Stay away from glass or fixtures - like windows, mirrors, cabinets and electrical equipment, Ceiling fans etc RULE OF THUMB stay away from any thing that can FALL, BREAK, TUMBLE OVER, EXPLODE.
Follow the orders of the police or safety personnel.if an evacuation is ordered, leave the premises as soon as possible.
Do not ask too many question,Do not create more confusion then there already is,the best question to ask is WHERE IS THE SAFEST EXIT? and then GET OUT.
Do not forget handicapped persons who may require your assistance to get out.
Do not move seriously wounded persons unless they are in obvious and instant danger,Such as building collapse, Fire hazard etc
Do not go near gas lines, Fire hazards, or Kitchens.
Once out keep as far away from the area as possible.
Do not use elevators ( Lifts ).
LIE FLAT, Most explosives are designed to explode in a flower bouquet pattern to disperse shrapnel horizontally between two and six feet above the ground,This pattern increases the chances of hitting the human torso ( upper body ) and head, the best position to assume is to lie flat on the ground.
Keep your mouth open and breathe in small intervals,the most dangerous aspect in an explosion is not shrapnel or heat; it is the blast over pressure, the blast wave travels at supersonic velocity and severely affects the air filled organs like lungs,kidneys and bowls. We naturally prefer to take a deep breath and hold it in emergencies but this proves lethal in bombing situation since our lungs become a pressurized balloon and b ruptured by the blast wave. The majority of victims in typical suicide bombing die from internal bleeding in the lungs. Only six percent, on average, die from shrapnel wounds. your chances of injury with empty lungs are significantly smaller.
Reduce your lateral profile- while laying on the ground look on one side and cover your exposed ear and eye with your arm ( arm NOT hand, Use all of your arm to cover your face ).

UNDER THE DEBRIS
Meaning if you are unfortunately buried under some rubble

Cover your mouth with a handkerchief or clothing
Tap on a pipe or wall so that rescuers can hear where your are.
DO NOT SHOUT. Shout only when there is no other choice, You risk inhaling large amounts of dust when yelling.
Stay calm think of things that relax you and make you happy.
If possible use a flashlight to signal your location to the rescuers.
Avoid unnecessary movement so your don't kick up dust.
if possible ,use a whistle to signal rescuers.

AFTER THE ATTACK

Duck for cover.
Leave the premises as quickly as possible,Do not stop to retrieve personal belongings.
One event can be followed by another so do not rush towards the blast scene.
Open doors carefully watch for falling objects.
Do not use matches or lights sparks might trigger gas explosions.
Do not use telephone and hand radios cells phones etc, Static charges can trigger explosions and other bombs.
Do not occupy sidewalks or streets so that others can exit the buildings or to be used by emergency personnel.
Seek first-aid in case of life threatening injuries you or others may have received.
In case of minor injuries either wait for the first-aid responders to take care of the severely injured first, or try to go to a hospital that is not near the blast scene,nearby hospitals become crowded soon after the blast.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Due to blast over pressure, most of the victims become deaf ( it takes only five pounds per square inch pressure to rupture the ear drum ).Therefore oral communication with the victims is impossible,Use signs to communicate and give directions.
Nearby intersections, Roads and hospitals becomes crowded ,if you are not one of the victims,avoid using these roads,Hospitals and other facilities for some time after the explosion so that resources can be better utilized for blast victims.
Close space explosions such as in buses,buildings or mosques are more lethal then explosions in open space, due to less ventilation of the the blast over pressure and more refection waves.
Almost half of the initial causalities to seek medical care will come in the first 2 hours.
People with minor injuries will come first to seek medical care before severely injured. If you are one of the doctors or volunteers providing care start ignoring minor injured persons and give priority to severely injured.
Stay vigilant for other dangers,Once your get involved in disaster events, it is usual to overlook nearby dangers ( No point in running out of the building and crashing into a CAR :P ).
BE PATIENT ,there are certain things you cannot change for example the chain of command, delay in medical procedures, waiting, equipment failures, unavailability of resources etc.( Complaining AT THE SPOT is not going to do anything )

According to a report from Apcoms a clerk working in the Clerk office was suspended for some reason and was asked to leave the premises,after getting outside the gate he started saying all kinds of stuff about the principal Hubdar Ahmad Madni.
Some of the things he has been heard saying are that the Principals son failed in etc etc class and etc etc person was responsible for his passing and that his son is teaching in the university,and that is favoritism he considers Apcoms his property,and abused him with a lot of generosity.
He was fired from Apcoms with his stuff and salary confiscated.
WE require more information about this incident particularly what his name was.

This talk resonates completely with what i believe in,think about it.The education system is just like the QWERTY Keyboard,originally designed to slow down the speed of typing to prevent the keys of the typewriter getting stuck, but it is still in use where clearly we aim to achieve higher speeds.
I do not need to go further our education system has plenty of students more then 95% in each class that have absolutely no clue to what there natural talent is,because they have long forgotten about it,have never practiced it,and will surly wont in the future,our schools and colleges are producing run of the mill students,and they will 'always' be average in what ever they will do,the only factor that will have an effect on their performance will be hard-work, or more specifically 'Time spent'

Google docs and Wikis are very helpful tools you can use to collaborate on your Team projects and assignments that you receive in your university.
Google docs can be used to work together on an article,research paper and other word processor type assignments,presentations and data compilations (spreadsheets).
While wikis on the other hand enable larger number of people to collaborate more easily which might become too messy on the Google docs.I have placed introductory videos for both of them but i will suggest Google docs as a good start.Just make a new word file in Google docs and invite your group members as collaborators and start working on it together at the same time, without the fuss of multiple versions each of the member can easily see who has written what and this will also solve the problem of half the group doing nothing.

This video gives a little insight into how education in today's schools is totally irrelevant and lacks the ability to reach the students at there level, Our teachers tend to be lacking the enlightenment and the vision that is required to cope with the future. I often wonder why we as a nation cannot prosper and why we are not even going in the right direction yet. The answer seems to be we Lack the vision our teachers who are expected to be better than the students in some respect to teach them tend to 'appear' better but in reality they are also a product of "Sabak yaad kero beta" philosophy. The examinations are aimed at determining which student has more of the taught subject in his or her memory.

New technology brings forth a lot of new and exciting methods if utilized properly can revolutionize the field of eduction, lot of them are mentioned in the presentation you saw right now,from pod casts to blogs, i have yet to see a university professor in Pakistan that is gathering feedback from his or her students via any method that might make him or her approachable, Blogs can be utilized perfectly for this method yet i see no blog or website aimed at reaching the students and finding out how to teach them better.
here is an example of a website of an APCOMS teacher Sir Hammad bashir http://hammadbashir.com/
he teaches E-Commerce related subjects and you can clearly see from the level of his website that he himself is totally inadequate in teaching a subject related to e-commerce his website seems to be just a page with a Photo some text and his email id???
I don't see a Podcast on his website??
I don't see a Forum on the website to discuss his lectures?? ( Not even a PHPbb Forum which is Free )
I don't see a Feedback system on his website??
and this is the teacher who 'has' a website all the rest don't even have anything to 'Reach' their students!

This is the level of our Teachers???
We are not allowed to have Mobile phones in the class??? Helloooo this is 21st century??? it just shows the immaturity of our teachers and educational institutions.
Nearly Every student has Mp3 players and Mobile phones that can play Mp3 files, Yet i do not see a single teacher who has a Podcast???( Lectures available in Mp3 format to download )
I would have loved to blame a lot of this on the students as well but if you think about it the students are like this exactly because we are not being taught in the way we might learn something which leads to an environment of 'look busy do nothing' This isn't too late we just need young and enlightened teachers/professors not just in our universities but also in elementary and high schools.

our online identities can be very important when it comes to seeking jobs or just to show your real self.Often we do not realize that our online identities are a part of our real identities our Email Ids , Orkut, Myspace, Facebook and numerous other social network profiles give away bits of information about us which we often do not want to share beyond a specific circle.

Furthermore this information about each of us, our interests, Hobbies, Political views, Religious bantering non of them go unnoticed,although the web seems like a huge place but it is pretty much crept up by search engines and special keywords attract attention from all sorts of entities.

Not to mention the Monetary value of such huge databases of people's interests and opinions to the marketers ( This is also a large part of the financial model of these social networks ) each word you type online give away information, that information can be utilized for a large number of legal and illegal purposes ranging from spam to monitoring by government agencies.

The trend of mining social networks for information about potential employees is also increasing specially in the high tech sector, and will only grow as more and more employers find out about this free and vast source of information about "our" lives.

He’s an Olympic swimmer and even he can’t escape Facebook.

If Michael Phelps’ pot smoking incident doesn’t convince new college graduates to protect their online identities, searching for a job in this market may force many to keep an eye on their Facebooking behavior.

“An increasing number of employers are looking (on Facebook). Privacy settings need to be set, and people need to be careful about what they put on there,” said Mark Sisson, associate director for career advising at the University of Dayton.

Sisson said the list of red flags for social networking sites, such as Facebook and MySpace, include inappropriate photos as well any information that suggests the student may not be as mature as the employer would like.

Statistics also point to trends in the number of employers mining Facebook for information on potential employees.

According to a February article in the New Jersey Law Journal, 40 percent of employers reported checking the social networking sites of those vying for jobs. This is up from the 22 percent reported by CareerBuilder.com last year.

Sisson said cautioning students about Facebook use begins as soon as students step on campus.

“I speak to a lot of first-year students when they come in about career-related issues, (and) I bring it up right from the very beginning,” Sisson said.

Jason Eckert, director of career advising at UD, said some students are unaware of the impression they leave online.

“Students don’t have an understanding that even though Facebook is a relatively closed community, employers can see them,” Eckert said. “Even things posted innocently can often be detrimental to a student’s success.”

Few employers have policies concerning using Facebook to screen potential hires; however, the information gathered may be more than a new hire may wish to reveal, Sisson said.

“By pulling up someone’s Facebook account, they can see your race and age, and everything else you choose to disclose,” he said.

In the past, both Eckert and Sisson said they have seen employers reject applicants because of unprofessional Facebook pages, as well as a few who have actually rescinded their offers. This is especially true, Sisson said, for applicants of government jobs.

Both Sisson and Eckert advise job hunters to set their Facebook security settings appropriately.

Nevertheless, Sisson said Facebook can be used to a student’s advantage, particularly during the job search.

“If a student wants to work far away and he doesn’t have contacts (there), Facebook can help develop these job contacts,” Sisson said.

Football Humility

BBA-15 (6th semester) and BBA-20 (1st Semester) arranged a friendly match of Football today starting 3:30 PM.The BBA-15 Students started arriving by 3 PM and the 1st semester didn't manage to bring even 11 students by the time the match started.
The match was to be of 25 Mins Half however the match came to an abrupt stop when just after 15 mins and 4 humiliating goals by BBA-15 the 1st semmester's players started leaving the field one by one and the match was forfieted and BBA-15 WON in just 15 mins.by 4 Goals

Highlights include 2 Goals by Umer Riaz ( Rooney ) rendering the 1st semmesters defence left dancing in the key of D
1 Goal was by Taimoor Zaheer ( Toreee )
1 Goal was by Humayun Shaheen

A Word of advice for the 1st Semmester: Next time come prepared when you are facing the seniors :P

AFTER MATCH ATTACK

BBA-15 and BBA-14 had a Self arranged Cricket match in the APCOMS Ground
the match was of 8 OVERS
BBA-14 went to bat first gave a score of 68
BBA-15 Followed and failed to reach the score of 68 by a small margin
hence BBA-14 Won the friendly match

After the match BBA-14 ever so energetic felt compelled to announce their victory and to send a subtle message to the losing BBA-15 by Hooting and Shouting warcrys.which caught the attention of Sir Najmi ( Cordinator ) and Sir Shahjahan HOD and they felt a strong urge to visit the location and bestow some good behavioral stimulus.

They lectured the students on correct ways of the ancestors and the code of humanity or other equally useless and UN-fulfilling topics and then herded then back to wherever they were going

An educational Institution that Confuses Education with Training, (yes they think that its there responsibility to KILL the individualism of the students and enforce a strict rule,Sounds like army doesn't it??).

Where Uniform means a particular texture of clothing not just any Gray pants but the Gray pants they LIKE,not just any white shirt but the white shirt that they LIKE.

Students are slaves.

Hair styles are to be approved by the administration,other wise non educational hair styles might interfere with our studies(How thoughtful).

Boys and girls cannot sit together because its UNNATURAL, because the administration is GAY (Aheem lols Come on!! its quite possible, makes sense??? ).

Accessorizing the UNIFORM is also prohibited because extra stuff such as key chains,bracelets,wrist bands,P caps,Beanies,bandannas, and all other forms of coolness is not allowed because these things make the administration feel old and they want to feel young again,further more these things create social differences between students and some look more richer and well endowed then the rest,that is why the APCOMS administration helps us by Fining some hefty amounts to reduce the social gap and to make everyone a Plain old no-personality Geek.

If you are with the Administration you are the king of the hill,even if you are the gate keeper the admin-pompous-git certificate makes each and everyone of the employees the Social police of the university they have the right to "help us" by barging in and telling someone to stop talking to the girl right now,because its UNETHICAL.

Gatekeepers Love to snoop around like dogs to stop any unlawful communication between girls and boys.

Smoking is not allowed for students but is allowed for teachers.

The coordinator of the BBA department Mr Najmi AKA, ( Nick names kept secret ) and a number of other Honorary titles has been selected to provide his services because of his immense knowledge in the field of backstabbing,Poondi,Social welfare by wandering around and stopping boys and girls from talking and keeping tabs on who likes to talk with whom.

A lot of teachers are selected on the strict set of processes called "FLUKES" and "LOOKS" teachers are thoroughly selected based on there looks and then a feasibility analysis is carried out estimating the ability of that teacher to Fail miserably at teaching if the chances are less then 75% the teacher is selected,a number of failed flukes by the administration have been reported such as the psychology teacher for BBA department,(name withheld to protect the guilty).

Attendance of 80 % is required to take the examination. The process on the whole happens to be the love stuck mistress of teachers and coordinator where teacher have the luxury of not putting the attendance of a student if he or she is late or simply if the teacher doesn't like him or her.

Good teachers Leave APCOMS because they get better jobs,and Crappy teachers get promoted.

Aptitudes of students are irrelevant,all the students have to do the same shit, no matter what he or she is better at or loves to do.

Prepares us for the practical world & for the competition intensive market out there,BY teaching us outdated crap, thought by teachers that have limited vision and enforcing strict uniform and anti opposite sex code because the world out there is sooooo conscious about dressing and talking to a girl is a SIN,(Yes its a SIN. APCOMS is protecting us from the fires of HELL,isn't that exactly why we are paying them for???).

Asking too many questions means you are stupid,that is exactly why Thomas Edison and Einstein were kicked out because they were stupid. See where are they now! ,selling cupcakes at the street corner probably.

Copying the white board and writing it as is,is the perfect way to LEARN and get good grades,that is how our teachers got good grades and that is exactly why they are our teachers and that is exactly why we have no right to prosper.

Every semester a feedback from the students is taken to analyze the teachers,where students rate the teachers,and the teacher that gets the worst grades is congratulated because students are stupid, they do not know shit,so the worst teacher is actually the best,makes sense doesn't it?.
